About the event
No matter where you are on your recovery journey, it can be helpful to have support along the way. If you are looking for a community space where you can practice mindful movement and share space with like-minded people in recovery, join Open Up’s Mindfulness in Recovery group, every other Saturday from 4-5pm.
This 60-minute class will start with 30 minutes of guided meditation and movement followed by a group discussion on a topic related to mindfulness and/or recovery where participants can volunteer to share. You will never be required to share, identify yourself, or disclose your substance/behavior of choice. In order to attend, you must be 18 years or older and 24 hours or more sober from the substance or activity of choice. This is not meant to replace or replicate group or individual mental health therapy.
This is a movement and discussion-based class meant to teach mindfulness strategies and facilitate community for individuals living in recovery from addiction. This group is not affiliated with AA or any other sober group. Please send any inquiries to carley@open-up.org. We look forward to practicing with you!
- This class is inclusive- it is designed to be accessible for people with and without disabilities. It is for everyone.
