About the event

Printmaking Play: The Art of Surprise

This beginner-friendly workshop will explore a few ways you can make easy, beautiful prints using materials you may have around the house! You'll learn different monoprinting and monotyping techniques using gelatin ("gelli" ) plates, foam plates, stencils, and trash bags as well as common household items and found objects like q-tips, makeup sponges, bubble wrap, string, lace, and leaves. You can use what you've learned to flourish blank greeting cards with your own flair, and later use the same techniques for wrapping paper, wall art, and collage. However, our emphasis will not be on product but play, process, experimentation, and spontaneity. Make your mark!
