Co-Founders

Scott Page
Executive Director & Co-Founder
After getting sober, Scott spent many years dealing with the frustration of not readily being able to meet other sober-minded individuals in a social or non-meeting-related context. He also had a desire to get out of the house and engage in physical, cultural, and social activities but did not have the financial means or know where to begin. Teetotal Initiative has become a passion he developed not only as an individual in recovery, but in order to build a sense of community for others who find themselves with the same challenges and struggles.
Scott Page transitioned into a full time Executive Director role in May 2025, bringing over 15 years of professional event leadership experience, including roles with the Duquesne Club and the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh/Culinaire. Scott is also pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Scott holds a BFA in Musical Theater from The University of the Arts. He is husband to Andrew, a proud dog dad to three beautiful Bichon's and also enjoys baking, mixing up mock-tails, and supporting the cultural scene in his spare time.

Jackie Slaugenhaupt
President & Co-Founder
Jackie is a passionate philanthropist and community enthusiast dedicated to normalizing what it means to be a sober person in today’s society. After years of frustration in finding her own sober tribe and activities, Jackie realized there was a fantastic opportunity to create an inclusive, sober-focused nonprofit like Teetotal Initiative to alleviate others from having the same struggle.
For the past fifteen years she has gained immeasurable experience in the nonprofit sector through volunteer board service, grant writing, and fundraising for organizations such as the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Association, Pittsburgh Concert Chorale, Belle Voci Women’s Chorus, and many more.
In addition to dedicating her time and enthusiasm to Teetotal Initiative and charitable causes, Jackie is a Downtown Pittsburgh resident with over 25 years of experience in Financial Services, leading various roles at several Fortune 100 Banks.

Programming Directors

Director of Creative Arts Programming
Lauren Broyles
Lauren Broyles is a self-taught analog and hand-cut collage artist, and founder of the Pittsburgh Collage Collective. For her, collage is the perfect metaphor for recovery—that is, taking seemingly disparate pieces, fragments, scraps, and discards of our lives and our selves, and rearranging them into new, cohesive wholes. Having a daily creative practice and creative community have been important parts of her recovery from alcohol use disorder and work addiction over the past 8 years.
Lauren is a former HIV and addictions nurse, and a former addiction health services researcher and interdisciplinary addiction treatment fellowship director at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and the University of Pittsburgh. Her own program of research was focused on alcohol screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) in inpatient care settings, and on the reduction of addiction-related stigma. Lauren currently works remotely as a Senior Grant Writer & Editor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Lauren lives in O’Hara with her son Elliott (a high school senior), daughter Zoe (a junior at Ithaca College), husband John, and Black Labrador, Bella. In addition to collage and other paper crafts, she enjoys hiking, canoeing, gardening, and reading.

Director of Holistic Programming
Kim Cardiel Earley
Kim Cardiel Earley is a dedicated Kundalini Reiki practitioner and intuitive healer, passionate about helping others on their own journeys toward peace and happiness. With a rich and diverse background, Kim spent many years in New York City and Los Angeles as a recording artist, performer, and stand-up comedian, gracing stages at some of L.A.’s top comedy spots.
In the early 90s, she briefly lived in Pittsburgh, returning in 2013 after getting engaged to her soulmate, the “yin to her yang.” Kim is a proud mother to Liam, Luna, and stepson Ethan, cherishing the joy and growth that comes with motherhood.
Her personal healing journey took a significant turn in 2019 when she entered rehab at age 42, beginning a transformative path to sobriety. Kim has been sober since May 5, 2019, and her experience fuels her passion for mindfulness and healing practices.
Scott discovered Kim on Instagram and invited her to lead meditations for the very first Fresh Start event—unaware of her sobriety at the time. Now, Kim is thrilled to be part of this inspiring movement, helping others reconnect with their best selves and embrace new beginnings.
